1/2  Song for a Shy Girl 

Midnight shows up with a thousand lost things:

1/3 Owl Catches Fish

This is an ode to claw-grazed water
to the parting of the scales
to an open heart,
like an old vaudevillian,
beating its cold, fishy tune for an audience
who's only interested in the snack bar.

I'm having a problem with .gifs. It works fine in ImageReady but when I upload it, it seems to freeze and a purple bar keeps flashing up. Example underneath cut. ( Read more... ) I re-formatted my computer so I'm clueless as to what settings I had ImageReady saved to. Can anyone help?

I have checked the archive and didn't see anything close to this, so I hope someone can help me. I use Photoshop CS4.I've been seeing a certain effect around the graphics circuit and I'm not sure how it's done.

Is it a special brush that is only of the outline, or is it the actual picture that has been edited to look like that? I have seen this style done with so many types of images. I know there are bevel and emboss effects and all that on it, but the general outlined picture is what I'm trying to figure out. Can someone show me how it's done?

Seeing as even under non-holiday circumstances, I do my best to avoid the House of Geoffrey the Giraffe (see: Toys R Us), I'd rather do my gift-buying with a small independent toy shop.

Are there any in the Long Beach/Seal Beach/Huntington Beach area that would have toys that can withstand the tough love of a 4 y.o. boy?

so the vons on broadway near alamitos will be closing for a big remodel in the middle of january. not sure when it is set to reopen, I forget. sounds like a big deal though, I heard talk of a parking structure?!

also, does anyone know any places in town that sell the japanese/filipino drink pocari sweat (http://www.pocarisweat.com.ph/about.aspx)? my sister loves it and I want to get some for her and I am too far from anywhere I know that sells it (marukai, 99 ranch etc) that I can get to easily :P

well apparently jon's head came from that pizza thing (thanks to shoebox_addict!), so it kinda looks out of place i..just wanted to use his real head; can anyone solve his head's problem? plus, i also added his arm from the pizza picture, and then painted around his arm with some rationality. if.. that looks creepy or dosen't make sense, i can erase that.
